Early Rankings – Men’s Soccer

October 2nd – Last year, the Men’s Soccer team fell just short of their season goal. After a stellar season, and successful playoffs, the Gryphons finished the year as VISAA DIII state runners-up. As a result, the returning players are out for vengeance this year, looking to go deep into the playoffs and achieve the ultimate goal of a state championship. Their start to the season hasn’t been perfect, but the state rankings put the Gryphons in a competitive spot.

In the first VISAA DIII rankings of the season, the Gryphons debuted at Number 2. The early season success has been spurred by the disciplined coaching of Andy Bosak. Coach Bosak is a staple of NCS Soccer and pushes his athletes to their best. He has coached the Gryphons to more than 60 wins in his career.

In addition to Coach Bosak, his son, Evan, in his senior year has become one of the most impressive players in program history. His 21 goals and 12 assists in the season are enough to lead the team in both categories. He is a vocal, skilled leader that can change a game in a flash. In addition to Evan, seniors Caden Smith and Joseph Robert help to lead the team, Caden with additional scoring depth, and Joseph with impressive defensive athleticism.

The Gryphons will have several more competitive matches throughout the remainder of the season, each serving as an opportunity to pursue their postseason goals. Under Coach Bosak’s Leadership and the impressive young depth, these boys are primed to be a tough beat for any opponent.
