Summer Lacrosse Opportunities From Coach Hook

Hello,

Unfortunately we were not selected to the playoffs this year. However, we finished 10th in the state! I am proud of each player's development. We are a young team with great potential and I cannot wait for next season!

Lacrosse is a sport that cannot be played only 3 months a year. In the summer, there are many options within the city of Lynchburg and the surrounding areas to keep your skills up. New Covenant is offering a lacrosse camp this summer and I would encourage you to attend.

 Boys Lacrosse Camp: July 18-22

We are offering two sections of our LAX camp. Athletes need to provide cleats and sneakers. If he already owns a stick, he may bring it. Please provide a water bottle.

Rising 6-8th grades,

4:00-6:30, $100

Rising 9-12th grades,

6:30-9:00 $100

There will also be a Liberty Men's lacrosse camp June 20th-24th, which I highly recommend. http://www.liberty.edu/campusrec/clubsports/index.cfm?PID=34490

Lastly, the West Point lacrosse camp. I received the Most Improved Award my junior year of high school, and it is when I started to get noticed as a lacrosse player. The campers sleep in the barracks, eat dinner in the mess hall, and experience one of the most beautiful campuses in the States. My high school coach is a coach at the camp, and would love it if any of my players would come.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send me an email (hjhook@liberty.edu) or call me at 734-660-4897! I am here for you to become more knowledgeable about lacrosse, and what to do if your son is interested in playing lacrosse in college!

The VISAA 2016 Tournament Pairings are below in case you are interested.

Sincerely,

Hunter Hook

Important Lacrosse Information For This Week

Dear Parents,

The lacrosse season is coming into full swing and we’re looking forward to several home games this upcoming week.  I want to give you some important information to help with your game day planning.

Our teams are formed by grade level so 5/6 make up junior gryphon team, 7/8 middle school and 9-12 representing varsity lacrosse.  The grade level teams tend to work well when we play other schools such as North Cross, James River Day or LCA.  Club teams follow US Lacrosse ages to form teams and schedule games.    The US Lacrosse age groups are U11, U13 & U15 and August 31 is date which the player must be under (U) for eligibility to participate on the team.

Monday:

6:00 PM - home varsity game vs. Roanoke Catholic (all players 9-12)

Tuesday:

Jefferson Forest Club teams @ NCS

5:30 PM – U13 game NCS 6-7th and some 8 graders.  (I will communicate with 8th graders that will dress for game.)

7:00 PM – JV game NCS All 8th through 11th graders.

Friday:

1:45 PM – Blue-White Game for grades 7-8

4:30 PM - home varsity game vs. North Cross (all players 9-12)

Blue Ridge Lacrosse Club teams @ NCS

6:00 PM – U11 game NCS 5th graders (game is 7v7 using US Lacrosse format)

7:00 PM – U13 game NCS 6-8th graders.

I hope this helps with your planning as we host Club teams and ask players to be flexible in order to keep appropriate grades and ages in line with our competitors.

Thank you for all your support,

Kyle Alexander

Monday Varsity Lacrosse Practice

Happy Friday!

I hope you and your family had a great Spring Break. Now it is back to business- game week!

Although we have Monday off, we will be having a MANDATORY practice 4:00-6:15.(For those who are still out of town, I will not hold it against them) Tuesday will be normal.

Wednesday we will be having a walk through from 3:15-4:00. This is not mandatory, however, this will be vital for Thursday's game. Tandem Friends did not have spring break when we did. They have had four games during the two weeks since we played and have gotten better.

Parents, If your son is able, please encourage him to come to Wednesday's walkthrough. The walkthrough could be the difference between a win and a loss.

Thank you very much, and God Bless!
